lately, take 4

Does anyone else feel like life is like a top?

Probably not - so let me explain that analogy: Sometimes things get crazy busy and seem to be almost spinning out of control . . . but if you can just hang on for a while, there are also times of stillness and rest before the next round of spinning.

This week was sort of like that - lots of busy, but also some times of rest.

I love for things to be in order, organized, and in their place.  But when work and life in general are in the spinning phase, I have learned (especially with a two-year-old in the house) - that just isn't always going to happen.

*Sigh* How can messes be made so quickly?

On Thursday the weather was wonderful - warm, and sunny . . . at this time of year you just want to soak up of every minute of those rare days, gulping in that fresh air after being cooped indoors for long weeks of winter.

Braden and I broke out the stroller and enjoyed (for the first time in a long time) a lovely walk outside with Grandpa Ed and Maggie - sans coats or boots or any sort cumbersome winter gear.  I thought it was funny (and a little amazing), that when we were getting the stroller out, B requested his hat!  I guess he remembered that in the summertime he usually wears it when we are out and about to keep the sun out of his eyes.

TGIF!  We were all set to go out for the evening on Friday, but changed our minds in favor of a quiet night at home (just when exactly did we start wanting to stay in?!) . . . Take out from the Hard Luck on the couch while watching a movie hit the spot.

Although there are definitely things we should could be doing, we took it pretty easy today too (other than working our way through the never ending laundry, and cleaning up some clutter that I just could. not. take. anymore.) . . . Billy has to work tomorrow (not a usual thing), so today is his only day "off."  And, though being productive is a good thing, sometimes resting and relaxing is even better.

Little man and I hung out and watched a movie tonight in his favorite spot - the big bed.  He loves to cuddle up on a big old pile of pillows with some "fru sacks" (translation: fruit snacks).

Here's to relaxing weekends!  I am also looking forward to Monday - it's Presidents Day, so I get to enjoy an extra long weekend.
