Herky hunt rounds 2 and 3

We all enjoyed finding Herkys at the mall on Mother's Day, so decided to start officially hunting down the 83 statues in Iowa City an Coralville.  Over Memorial Day weekend we knocked several more off the list!

Saturday evening round 2 . . .

Round 3 on Sunday after church . . .

Elise was DONE with posing by this point! :)

Signs spring is here

So we can tell when the weather gets warm/humid around here by checking out Elise's curls!  They get REALLY curly when the weather gets warm :)

Another sign of spring that I've mentioned before is that the kids want to be outside ALL of the time.  Elise says "outside?" immediately when she gets up for the day.

And just for kicks, here's our "ninja" guy . . . Braden received some hand me down clothes from cousin Aidan, and insist on wearing them (even though he has a ways to go before really growing into them).  He asked me to take this picture of him being a ninja guy . . . whatever that means! ;)

Mother's Day

We started the Mother's Day festivities by having breakfast with the Hartsock's.  We then made our way to Iowa City for a little shopping and found some Herky on Parade statues at the mall.

Next up - fro yo at Orange Leaf - yum!

Found another Herky!

We then headed home where we snapped a couple of pics of Mommy and her kiddos.d

We rounded out the day with pizza for supper with my parents.  The perfect Mother's Day!

Randoms . . .

Spring eventually decided to arrive, and we were so happy to be able to get out of the house and enjoy outdoor time!

Elise still LOVES to swing, and was thrilled to have Grandpa Jim come push her while Mommy and Daddy did yard work.

Enjoying snack outside on the new picnic table from IKEA.

Checking out the firetrucks at the Fireman's Breakfast

Watering the new grass seed turned into a run through the sprinkler!

Our school had a fitness event in May at which one boy and one girl from each grade level won a new bike.  Braden was a lucky duck and won the PK bike!  It was kind of funny though, as he already has a "big boy" bike that he can ride without training wheels, and the bike he won is a tiny balance bike for beginners.  We told him we could exchange it for a larger size bike, but he wanted to keep it. . .
. . . which actually works out alright, because it turns out the bike is just the right size for Elise!

Actually running through the sprinkler!  Love the green grass!
