weekend at the lake

We spent the weekend with the Hartsock family at Clear Lake.  Uncle Josh and Aunt Holly generously invited everyone to stay in Josh's family cabin - right on the lake!  Braden was in heaven (so much so, that he refused to nap because he didn't want to miss out on any of the fun). 

As soon as we arrived on Friday afternoon, we of course had to hit the water!  We found a little beach area close by and B jumped right in.

When everyone else started to arrive, we switched to swimming off of the dock by the cabin.

That night we celebrated Auntie Amy's b-day with cake!

 B was soooooo tired, but would not give in and go to sleep . . . so Holly calmed him down with a story on her ipad

 . . . then hit the water!  Time for tubing!

 Boating, tubing, kayaking, swimming . . . lots of fun for everyone - including the dogs!

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on an evening boat ride . . .

 Someone was a little (lot!) sleepy . . .

Sunday we hit the beach again - this one was larger with lots of sand and rocks. B loved the beach!

Braden slept most of the way home on Sunday afternoon, but woke up in Waterloo.  So we stopped in Brandon to stretch our legs and check out the world's largest frying pan.  

After returning to the car, B said, "I sit in big pan!" He wasn't sure what to think about the strange landmark. :)
