a wonderful weekend

Why do the weekends always fly by?  This one seemed to go especially fast, even though for me it was a 3 day weekend (and would have been a 4 day weekend, if we weren't making up another snow day tomorrow, but I digress!) . . .

On Friday Billy and I were both home with Braden, which doesn't often happen. We spent the morning sleeping in and lounging around the house - the boys playing x-box and me reading in bed (ahh!).  In the afternoon we trekked down to Fairfield (where we bought our wedding rings) to (finally - it's been awhile!) have them cleaned and my prongs checked (so glad we did b/c my stone was loose)! While the rings were being cleaned/etc. we ate at one of Billy's (many) favorite pizza joints.  When we headed home a few flakes were falling, but soon after we were safely tucked inside, the snow really came down . . . we were glad to settle in for a family night at home.

Saturday Braden got to hang with Auntie Allie so Billy and I could have a night out for Valentine's Day - thanks Allison! We took in dinner and a movie and then dessert - yummy and fun!

Today Braden "learned" another new trick:

He's stuck out his tongue before, but never in a purposeful manner - today he is suddenly all about sticking out that tongue with a huge grin on his face.  So funny!

It's actually sort of hard to snap a picture of him sticking out his tongue - but we got a few . . .

. . . here Daddy is trying to help pose for the camera!

We visited the Grandma Lynette tonight at work to deliver a slightly belated valentine, then went out to the farm to see Grandpa Jim and the puppies -- Braden wasn't sure what to think of all the pups!

And finally, when I was uploading pictures, I found these from Braden's last bath . . . we're still using the infant/toddler tub in the sink (much easier than bending over the bathtub), but now Braden is big enough to use the tub without the newborn sling/hammock like thing for tiny babies.  At first he seemed a little unsure of the deeper water, but soon figured out that it is great fun to kick and splash in the tub!
