We (well, let's be honest here, I/Jill), hope to update the blog regularly (because it drives me NUTS when other people don't - and I LOVE the blogs that have new posts when I do my little routine run through of checking blogs. I know this will be easier said then done, but I/we promise to do our best! Hang in there with us as we figure out this whole blogging thing works.
So the latest? Today Billy got to cheer on the Hawkeyes at Kinnick with some friends (I reluctantly opted out at the last minute due to the rain and concern over how far I may possibly be walking in the rain with my swollen feet in the humidity - gotta love being 8.5 months pregnant!) . . . and I got to stay home and relax and try to stay semi-comfortable. Our little guy is a mover and loves to kick and roll around just when I get comfy - especially late at night.
At last measurement (I had an ultra sound on the 4th) the baby weighed in at 6lbs. 2 oz (give or take, of course). I had a few contractions when school first started (my doctor asked if there might be anything new adding stress to my life that could be bringing them on -- uh, YES! - thank you very much 2nd graders!), but since then things have been calm, although my tummy is very very tight and uncomfortable. I am not sure how he is moving so much in there, unless he is just trying to wiggle out!). My co-workers keep telling me I have "dropped," but it is hard for me to tell.
So we're waiting . . . somewhat patiently (/excitedly/terrifiedly!), for baby H's appearance. Officially he's not to supposed to arrive until the end of the month, but I am thinking/hoping for a little earlier (and my doctor promised me that I won't have to deliver a 10 pound baby). While we're finally getting in the groove at school (and most of the time I do love being a teacher), I must say that I am very much looking forward to my maternity leave and getting to spend time at home with baby. I love to look at all the sweet little clothes and diapers and try to believe that this is really real!
