Whew! The month of October has been a busy one this year. A couple of weeks ago I had two evenings of parent/teacher conferences in one week, and I don't think I have recovered from that yet. My favorite kind of weekend is when the calendar is clear, and we just get to hang out and relax. I enjoy fun events too, but lately have been craving some "down" time. When my family was attempting to schedule a date to go on our annual Sunday afternoon "leaf looking" outing to Lake MacBride while the leaves are at their prime, we realized that unfortunately Billy has to work this Sunday (which rarely happens, but when it does it feels like our weekend is cut in half) and with church, soccer, and hosting our small group in the evening also on the agenda it was just not going to work out. So, we decided to try for Saturday instead. I almost hated to add another item to our already full weekend, and when the day started out cloudy and cool, we just about called it off. I am so glad we decided to go, though - the sun ended up popping out and it was perfect!
Baby Annie's first leaf looking trip :)
Braden loved climbing up the "mountain" . . .
. . . and of course Elise wanted to try too!
We've been leaf looking for around 30 years now . . . wow!

Such fun memories! I can't believe how much bigger the kids look in just a year after looking at last year's pictures. I suppose before I know it another 30 years will have passed!
