As has become our Labor Day tradition, we headed to one of our favorite places in the fall, Wilson's Orchard. We first heard about/starting visiting Wilson's when Braden was pretty little, and look forward to going at least once each fall. We have learned that you have to go in the early fall to actually get to pick any apples (although this year they seem very plentiful), and that it's fun to go back later in the fall to see the pretty colors and have a warm apple turnover on a crisp, cool fall day.
Today was perfect weather - mid-seventies after a week long string of days in the upper 90's (we actually had early dismissal from school every day last week due to the heat). We enjoyed sleeping in and just hanging out at home in the morning, then met Grandpa Ed and Grandma Jane for lunch and finally headed to Wilson's.
In addition to apples, Wilson's has pumpkin patches - check out our little pumpkins in the pumpkin patch . . .

Of course we HAD to have some treats - apple cider slushies and an apple turnover were a yummy snack!
We wrapped up the trip with a ride on "Bessie, the tractor/wagon. When we got on, Braden said, "I've been waiting for this ALL day." He also asked us if Bessie is a girl. :)
We then headed home for naps (ahhhh) and of course laundry and other things to prepare for the week. It's so nice to have a long weekend hit at this time of the school year. . . I know we just got started, but after all the long crazy days that kicking off a new year entails, it's so nice to have an extra day to relax/catch up at home. Another Labor Day in the books!
