We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland . . . actually we woke up to the text telling me that school was cancelled, so I stayed in bed and spent some snuggle time with Elise (poor Billy still had to get up and go to work). When we did decide to get up, we were greeted with beautiful snow covered trees . . .
It was so pretty looking out at the backyard . . .
. . . and Elise was anxious to get outside!

. . . and Braden eventually woke up to join in the fun! E loves lion rides from big bro (she sometimes will go sit on the lion and wait for him/someone to come push).
We ended up staying inside (well, mostly inside - we did go out to lunch with friend here in town to get out of the house for a bit) till Billy got home. I knew once Braden went out he would not want to come in, and wasn't sure if it was warm enough for E to go out . . . B was so excited to use his new shovel to help Daddy with the driveway (not sure that he was really much "help" ;)
I slipped out for a minute to take a few pictures, and taught B how to make snow angels - now we have a yard full.
Elise was NOT happy about missing out . . . I bundled her up to go out for a bit, but after stepping outside, decided that it was indeed too cold, and that she could watch from the door. Obviously she disagreed . . .
To top off the day, we made a batch of snow ice cream (8 cups snow, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and a teaspoon of vanilla) - it was YUMMY!
