snow!

We've had a mild (and somewhat weird) winter so far . . . throughout December and January we've had days during which the temperature has been in the 50s.  Last week on Wednesday it reached 54, and that evening we got our first real snowfall of the season.

Thursday morning B was so excited to see the snow and asked to "go outside and step in it" immediately.  Unfortunately, we had to get moving and out the door (and it was super cold), so we weren't able to do that.  Friday brought wind/negative temps as well (with wind chill), but today the sun was shining and it was a great chance to get outside to play!

So excited to finally get to wear snowpants and boots!

 It was a little bittersweet to watch B play in our front yard . . . it'll only be "ours" for a few more weeks! (But we know we'll love our new yard!)

 
Daddy even dug out the sled and took Braden for a spin around our street.

Our little "helper" also had fun shoveling some snow before we headed inside to cheer on the Hawkeye basketball team and do a little more packing.
