TWO

It doesn't seem possible, but guess who's TWO!?

Here's B almost exactly a year ago . . .

We've loved watching him grow and change, and flash that big smile.

He's a go getter, and always on the move.

At age two, Braden . . .
• loves tractors, trains, trucks, and any other vehicle
• has all of his teeth (the dentist was surprised!)
• is chattering away, and will repeat almost anything;  says "pease" when he wants something, which makes him hard to resist
• loves green beans and peas, but won't eat hot dogs or lunch meat (eats almost anything else, though)
• will read 10 + books in one sitting, if we someone is willing to read to him for that long
• recognizes the tiger hawk and shouts "hawkeyes!" when he sees it
• sleeps through the night in his crib most of the time, but doesn't pass up the chance to sleep in the big bed with us if allowed
• greets you with a "hi" when he enters the room
• (finally) says "bye" - often right after someone walks out the door, or if we are outside, will shout it several times as someone is walking away
• gets excited to watch George (as in Curious) on TV, but usually loses interest after about 10 minutes, also likes Arthur and Thomas, and the movie Cars
• roars like a lion and makes many other animal noises - but if unsure what sound an animal makes, always defaults to an ambitious, hearty roar
• wears size 18-24 months clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 6 shoes (still has the best/cutest/trendiest wardrobe in our family)
• loves to play hide and seek/peek, and says "got you!" (whether you get him or he gets you)
• plays independently for long(er) periods of time

Favorites . . .
Dessert:  fruit smoothie, cake

Stuffed animal: blue bear, lovey bear (with blanket attached), and lion - one of which he sleeps with each    night

Toys: tractors, mega blocks, the Little People house at G&G Millers

Books: Kiss Goodnight, Swing!, Green Eggs and Ham

Team: Hawkeyes

Foods: jello with fruit, any fruit, peas, applesauce, yogurt, french fries dipped in ranch (mostly the ranch)

Thing to wear: shoes, hats

Place to go: the pool

Guilty pleasure: binky (yes, still - the dentist said it is fine)

Drink: apple juice


Hopefully we'll have birthday party pics to post soon . . . B picked up a bug at daycare on Thursday, and has been feeling under the weather.  We tried taking his 2 year pics on Friday evening, but that was a bust  - so we're going to try again next week.  We've spent the weekend at home resting and hopefully he's recovering and will feel up to his b-day bash with the fam this evening.
