Wilson's Orchard

It's that time of year - time for our (2nd) annual trip to Wilson's Orchard!

This year we were on the ball and anticipating the trip, and made it to the orchard while the apples were still bountiful. B had a great time picking apples, playing with sticks, and running, running, running through the rows of trees.

We picked a great day - warm and sunny . . .

. . . and full of smiles!

We even found a few pumpkins . . .

. . . but the cutest 'lil pumpkin in the patch was the one decked out in Hawkeye gear (after our outing we went home to cheer for our Hawkeyes as they crushed Iowa State).

B was thrilled with the TRACTOR that pulled a wagon through the orchard.

We've been enjoying munching crisp apples that we picked and some freshly pressed cider from the orchard at home this week. I was considering making a small batch of crockpot applesauce to use up some of our apples, but ran across this great recipe on my friend Sarah's blog this morning. Yum. I HAD to make it. Today. And it is fabulous. Wow. Make it.
